Celeste’s Miracle Story:

Celeste was born unresponsive and not breathing in 2012. After being resuscitated, she was rushed to UF Health Jacksonville where she was treated with a CritiCool® machine that was purchased using CMN Hospitals funds earlier that year. The cooling machine helped limit further brain damage that may have occurred as a result of her traumatic birth experience. Celeste continued to receive expert care from doctors for some time after being discharged from the hospital. Fortunately, because of the early treatment she received at her local CMN Hospital, she has no lasting cognitive impacts. However, she has since been diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy, specifically some muscle weakness and spasms. In order to strengthen her muscles she does ballet and dance. She also plays violin to strengthen her fine motor skills. All in all though, Celeste is a happy-go-lucky child who loves her little sister and their dog, T’amo. Her family is forever grateful for the treatment she received at UF Health Jacksonville and the life-changing impact it had on her. Consider pledging to support the CMN Hospitals program through this year’s Give Where You Live pledge campaign today. When you donate, you help change kid’s health so we can change the future.
